The Senate, where the Constitution appoints two Senators to each state, is the complete opposite to the idea of popular representation. We rely on the Senate for the biggest decisions and yet doing this ignores most voices and opinions. Despite its lengthy and confusing it does have some benefits. Its purpose is actually to increase the participation in the voting process. When the Democrats disagree with the Electoral College, they are disagreeing with the Constitutions republicans foundation. They only are arguing to benefit themselves. As usual if its not their way then its not the right way. If it doesn't work for them then of course its wrong and awful. The Electoral College is a confusing and complicated process that may not work for some but seems to have good intentions at heart and in the foundation. I have no answer to how we can get people to accept or rid the Electoral College but people should stop rejecting the idea of it just because it doesn't favor you. Just because the system isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean its not most peoples shot of whiskey. I do think some votes and voices go unheard during the election season but that doesn't mean you have to cause drama and start fights because you lost.

Democrats Vs. Electoral College
Buzz about the election can't seem to cease (though its understandable, it defiantly was an election to remember) and I cant seem to escape drama of the Electoral College and how it is "undemocratic". The article by John Yoo discusses the issues people have with the Electoral College and why. I've heard many complaints and some praises about the Electoral College without really being told what it was. I looked it up and found this definition. "The founding fathers established it in the Constitution as a compromise between election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens... consists of 538 electors." Compromise? The great nemesis of politicians. No wonder the idea Electoral College isn't some peoples favorite. It involves compromise.
Since the victory of Trump, the supporters of Hillary are "turning their fire" against the Constitution. Clinton won votes nationwide yet I and others were wrong when we thought she'd be the one taking the place as President. But why not? She had the fewest electors votes. Because Trump had won the majority of the electors. After losing, the Democrats question the Constitutions way of selecting the President. Attorney General Eric Holder said that the US should elect the President by the majority vote and Mike Dukakis said it should have been thrown out (the Electoral College) "150 years ago" They have a point when you think about it because the Electoral College allows smaller states to have a greater impact than the larger. The Democrats would rather ignore the states and campaign only in the population centers that Clinton won with ease. Which isn't necessarily right either. To just ignore the states with less population. Every vote should count, even though it doesn't feel like it. The power of the Electoral College isn't exaggerated. It obviously favors the states. But its not the only antidemocratic thing, the Constitution is even more so.

The Senate, where the Constitution appoints two Senators to each state, is the complete opposite to the idea of popular representation. We rely on the Senate for the biggest decisions and yet doing this ignores most voices and opinions. Despite its lengthy and confusing it does have some benefits.
